His and Hers Pamper Night

Hi all, hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Back in November I was invited to the Braun Mummy Me Time event but as I was unable to make it (I was gutted) I was kindly sent some goodies for me and my boyfriend to have a pamper night instead! Included was the Braun SkinSpa and CoolTec.

I'll go first and tell you a bit about the SkinSpa, ladies first and all that.

This is the first epilator I have owned and it is not only an epilator but an exfoliation system as well, a right little multitasker.

The instrucions are quite easy to understand so I had no problems setting up. Oh I think I should mention that you will need a shaver adapter as it's a 2 pin plug, you can get them for a couple of quid of Ebay.

I started of with exfoliating my legs using the exfoliating brush that attaches to the device, such a good idea don't you think? Exfoliating prior to epilating should reduce the chance of ingrown hairs.

When it came down to epilating, I'm not gonna lie I was a bit nervous because I've heard a lot about it being painful but I got in a nice warm bath and got started. Yes it hurt, but only at first, I got used to it pretty quickly, maybe the high frequency massage system that is built into the device helped the pain.

The results were good, I will have to go over my legs again to get the strays though but that's no big deal, it was only my first time but I'm sure I will become a pro soon enough. This is definitely going to be my way of hair removal now, it's easier than waxing. I might brave the armpits and bikini line next...maybe. If needed you can also use this on your face.

It is available in Boots.

Onto the fellas gadget..the CoolTec, the worlds first shaver with active cooling technology.

This arrived just at the right time as Ky only broke his usual shaver the other day. He was eager to test this out so off into the bathroom he went. You can also use this in the shower if you like as well.

The shaver is fully charged in 1 hour or you can pop it on charge for 5 minutes and that should be enough for 1 shave.

The instructions, like the SkinSpa, were simple to understand which is always good. He enjoyed using the CoolTec and is impressed with the cooling feature, it definitely minimised shaving irritation.

This is also available in Boots.

Overall both of the products are good little gadgets, we both enjoyed the results and will carry on using the SkinSpa and CoolTec, If your looking for a gift for your other half, maybe keep these in mind as I'm sure whoever receives these will not be disappointed.

Have you tried epilating before? Do you have any tips?

Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Ultra-Volume Mascara

Back in the days when I was subscribed to Glossy Box I received a sample size of the Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp mascara and I loved it! It was only recently though when I ran out of my Benefit They're Real mascara that I decided on a change and made my way to the Yves Rocher website. I purchased it in black but they also have brown and blue.

The brush on this mascara is very plump and curvy, a bit like me haha. It's easy to apply and coats every single lash with barely any clumping. There was no flaking either.
Sexy Pulp definitely does what it says on the tin and I would recommend this to anyone.

Get ready for some scary eyes photos...

Before

After
I used two coats in the above picture.

Sexy Pulp is currently on offer on the website down from £17.90 to £8.90!! Bargain in my opinion.

Yankee Candle & WoodWick Haul

I think I may have a slight obsession with Yankee Candles! Although I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Here are some of my recent purchases

Some of my new wax tarts/melts include these three, Snow In Love, Mandarin Cranberry and Snowflake Cookie. Mandarin Cranberry's scent lasted ages, I managed to burn it around four times before it started fading! Snowflake Cookie is now one of my favourites, I love the cakey cookie scents. I've since bought Christmas Cookie, its mouth watering.

I'm loving True Rose, I've always loved the smell of Roses and this candle has got it bang on and the scent is quite strong when being burnt as well. Welcome Christmas I got in the sale in my local shop, I'm not going to burn it till December though.

Whilst browsing I found these WoodWick wax melts, they were only about £1.50 so I picked one up in the scent Linen. There breakable and you get about two lots in the pack, this scent is OK but it could be a bit stronger.

So what do you think? Have you tried out any of the new Christmas scents yet?

Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar

I went into Lush the other day to check out some of their Halloween and Christmas goodies and I ended up leaving with this little cutie, the Pumkin bubble bar.

Yes he only has one eye, there was only 3 left and they were all one eyed pumpkins.

He contains ylang ylang oil and orange absolute to leave you feeling uplifted and refreshed. He also turns the bath water a pretty cool orange colour and I've managed to get 3 baths out of him seeing as he bubbles up pretty well. My skin felt so smooth after.
I'm planning on picking up the Lord of Misrule bath bomb next time I'm in store and no doubt another one of these will end up in my bathroom.

Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream

Am I the only one who is obsessed with buying Korean beauty and skincare products? I rarely see people talking about them in the UK. Why not? Have you seen some of the stuff they have?!

I purchased this Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream from Ebay, Ill link the seller down the bottom.

It's a translucent gel that contains 78% snail filtrate, yes, it is what your thinking, snail goo!

The gel claims to be good for healing, and so far I am really impressed. If I get a sign of a spot, I pop this bad boy on it a few times and after about 2 days it's disappeared without making a full on appearance! I'm really happy with this gel and it works wonders for me.

I sometimes use it before my moisturiser as well, it gives a nice fresh feeling to my face, is super light on the skin and absorbs well. Also there's no proper scent to it.

If you can get used to the fact your putting snail mucus on your face then I seriously recommend you give this a try!

It costs £3.66 from a seller named sing-sing-girl

Have you tried any snail goo products?
What are your thoughts on them?

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Review

I've been trying out some Korean products for the last few months and these lip glosses are just too cute not to share!

They're by a skincare and make-up brand called Tony Moly.

I have Juicy Cherry and Juicy Apple, each gloss has a different scent and they both smell yummy!

For both I would say you need a good 3 swipes of the gloss to get a good colour, which is not too bad.
I found them moisturising and they didn't show up any dry patches either.
The only downfall is that they don't last long on the lips at all, but then I don't mind having to reapply as I get to look at the cuteness again! I'm a sucker for packaging.

Wearing Juice Cherry

They only cost £3.85 from Ebay and there's a lot more colours to choose from.

Have you tried any Korean products?

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo & Conditioner Review

A couple of weeks ago I was kindly sent some samples from the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette range. I was sent the shampoo and conditioner. I do dye my often so I was eager to try these out!

The products contain crushed pearls and almond oil and are supposed to protect your hair colour as well as rehydrate and add shine.

The shampoo lathered up really well and after using these I have definitely noticed a difference in my hair, it makes it silky smooth and it really does bring out the tones and adds a beautiful shine! My hair also becomes more manageable after using them.

They have quickly become my favourite shampoo and conditioner!

I'm now thinking of trying out the colour precision foam hair dye next time I dye my hair. I haven't used a foam dye before so I'm quite excited to try it out!

Have you tried any of the Brilliant Brunette range?

Check out the John Frieda YouTube channel for some expert hair and styling tips!

I'm going to give this hair bow a go, it looks amazing on the model!

Charity Shop Haul August 2013 ♥

The other day I went charity shop shopping, I love it! You never know what you are going to find.

It was a successful day and here are some of the gems I found

I found this Baylis & Harding wild rose & raspberry leaf set in the first shop we went into, it cost £2.

Then I found this pastel blue Laura Ashley skirt, unfortunately it's a bit tight on me at the moment. This cost £4.

I noticed this just as I was about to leave one of the shops, it's a Yankee Candle tart warmer and only cost £3.

I also found a black pair of New Look Yes Yes skinny jeans for £3 and an old key cupboard for £3 that I plan on upcycling! Keep an eye out for some upcycling posts.

What do you think?
Do you enjoy a rummage through a charity shop as well?

L'oreal Kerastase Spray à Porter Review

I was lucky enough to win a Kerastase set a few weeks ago, included in the set was three of their new "Couture Styling" products, Spray à Porter, Forme Fatale and Laque Couture.

I absolutely love the colours of these bottles! They look so fabulous on my dressing table.

Today I'm going to review the Spray à Porter, I haven't managed to find a tousled effect spray that actually makes much difference to my hair....till now that is.

I sprayed this onto my dry hair, sectioned into two.

The smell is divine! All the products smell lovely.

My hair is not dead straight anyway but I really notice a difference when I use this, it gives me beautiful wavy beach hair (without the sand) and gives it a bit of oomph.  It isn't at all sticky and doesn't weigh my hair down. I cant stand sticky hair products so Spray a Porter is a winner in my eyes. It also holds really well. Theirs not a downside to this product, its all goodness in that beautiful turquoise bottle.

I'm happy that Ive finally found a tousled effect spray that works for me, I use this quite a lot so can imagine I will be purchasing it quite soon when this bottle runs out.

You can buy it from Feel Unique for £19.55, that is quite pricey for a salt spray but in my opinion its worth it.

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend

Have you tried any products from the "Couture Styling" collection?

Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit

Hi guys,

I was lucky enough to be invited to a BzzCampaign for the new Veet EasyWax. Veet sent me the electrical roll on kit and refill for bikini and underarms!

I do use the Veet wax strips every now and then and I love them! So I was really excited to try this machine out.

I heated up the device for about 35 minutes then got to work on my gorilla legs. Surprisingly it was a really simple job.

It didn't get every single hair but I didn't expect it to, it got enough though. I would definitely recommend this and I am going to keep using this now instead of the wax strips.

Here is a discount code for 50% off....enter EASYWAX4 when you purchase it from Amazon.

Have you tried this out yet?

Are you a BzzAgent yet?
